Getting INCP Tokens
INCP is the native token of the Inception blockchain. You need INCP to pay for transaction fees (gas) and to participate as a validator.
What is INCP?
INCP is used for:
- Gas Fees: Pay for transaction execution on the Inception network
- Validator Staking: Validators must stake 32 INCP to participate in consensus
- Network Security: Staked INCP secures the proof-of-stake network
- Governance Participation: Token holders can vote on network proposals
Token Supply
- Maximum Supply: 50,000,000,000 INCP (50 billion)
- Fixed Cap: No inflation beyond the maximum supply
- Initial Distribution: See Tokenomics for allocation details
How to Get INCP
For Users (Small Amounts)
Once INCP listings go live on exchanges, you'll be able to acquire INCP through:
1. Centralized Exchanges (Coming Soon)
Watch the Status page for announcements about exchange listings. Centralized exchanges will offer:
- Fiat-to-INCP purchases (USD, EUR, etc.)
- Crypto-to-INCP trading pairs
- Simple user interface for beginners
2. Decentralized Exchanges (Coming Soon)
Once the Inception Swap launches (TBA — follow /status), you can trade other tokens for INCP directly:
- Trade directly from your wallet
- No KYC required
- Full custody of your funds
3. Bridge (Future)
The Inception Bridge will allow you to transfer assets from other blockchains and swap them for INCP.
For Validators (32 INCP Required)
If you plan to run a validator, you'll need to acquire 32 INCP for the deposit:
- Acquire INCP through exchanges (when available)
- Transfer to your wallet that you control
- Make the validator deposit following the Validator Setup Guide
Validators must deposit exactly 32 INCP to activate. This amount is locked while you're validating and subject to slashing penalties if you misbehave.
Safety Guidelines
When acquiring INCP, follow these security best practices:
✅ Do's
- Verify exchange legitimacy before depositing funds
- Enable 2FA on all exchange accounts

- Don't store large amounts on exchanges long-term
- Never click suspicious links claiming free INCP
- Don't rush - verify everything twice

When Will INCP Be Available?
Timeline for INCP availability:
- Now: Genesis validators and early participants
- Phase 1: Limited exchange listings (TBA — follow /status)
- Phase 2: Major exchange listings and DeFi integration
- Future: Native DEX (Inception Swap) launches (TBA — follow /status)

Getting Started Amounts
How much INCP you need depends on your use case:
Use Case | Recommended Amount |
---|---|
Simple transactions | 0.01 - 0.1 INCP |
Regular user | 0.5 - 2 INCP |
DeFi participant | 5 - 50 INCP |
Validator | 32+ INCP (required) |
Inception uses EIP-1559 for predictable gas fees. Most simple transactions cost a fraction of 1 INCP, but it's good to have a buffer for network congestion.
